Library Advisory Committee

Aims :-

1. To guide and support the overall development and functioning of the library.
2. To ensure the library meets the needs of its users—students, faculty, researchers, and the community.
3. To provide for modernization and improvement of Library and documentation services
4. To advise on policies related to collection development, budgeting, staffing, and services.
5. To foster collaboration between the library and other departments or stakeholders.

Objectives :-

1. Recommend resources (books, journals, databases) based on curriculum and research needs.
2. Promote the inclusion of diverse and updated materials.
3. Assist in drafting and reviewing policies on circulation, acquisition, access, and usage.
4. Ensure policies align with institutional goals and standards.
5. Suggest improvements in user services like reference help, digital access, or reading spaces.
6. Promote user awareness through orientations, workshops, or events.
7. Provide input on budget distribution for different sections of the library.
8. Monitor effective use of funds for maximum impact.
9. Recommend upgrades or maintenance for library infrastructure.
10. Encourage the adoption of new technologies such as automation, digital libraries, and e-resources.
11. Periodically evaluate library performance and user satisfaction and suggest strategies for continual improvement.
